This sculpture is an extension of the Block typeface specimen. The sculpture is concrete uppercase “G” with exposed steel rebar. The exposed rebar in the concrete sculpture reflects the modules used to create the Block typeface. The choice of materials is informed by the brutalist origins of the Block typeface.
